#AESD Week 8: Four Programs Earn Weekly Honors

BOSTON – Numerous schools records were broken over the weekend as teams had some of their best swims of the year in various invitationals, throughout the Northeast.
 
Maine and Vermont competed in the Harold Anderson Invitational at URI while UMBC took part in the Bucknell Invitational. NJIT swam in the BU Terrier Invitationals while Binghamton and New Hampshire faced a tough slate of teams in the Bruno Invitational at Brown.
 
There are no teams competing this coming weekend. The first weekend in December, Bryant will race in the Gompei Invitational and Mane will compete in the State Meet. Vermont visits UConn, while UNH hosts Northeastern and UMBC welcomes Frostburg State.
 
2024-25 #AESD Weekly Award Winners – Nov. 26
Female Swimmer & Rookie of the Week
Lydia Hart, New Hampshire – Fr.,  Cornwall, Ontario, Canada
  • Won the 500 free (4:47.91) and took third in the 1650 free (16:40.88) at the Bruno Invitational.
  • The 500 free time is the fastest in the conference by nearly seven seconds and just one second off an NCAA B Cut.
  • The 1650 free time ranks first in the league by over 30 seconds and is a NCAA B Cut.
  • This is Hart’s first #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
 
Female Diver of the Week
Tannah Proudfoot, Vermont – So., Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Qualified for NCAA Zones with a score of 266.40 in the 1-meter at the Harold Anderson Invitational.
  • Finished with a 250.00 in the finals of the 3-meter after scoring 259.40 in prelims
  • This is Proudfoot’s first #AESD Diving of the Week honor this season.
 
Male Swimmer of the Week
Elijah Lanfear, Binghamton – Sr., Binghamton, N.Y.
  • Won the 50 free (19.82) and 100 free (43.21) events at the Bruno Invitational, while taking 2nd in the 100 fly (46.83).
  • Also set a new conference record in the 400 free relay (2:56.25) and posted the fastest 100 back time (48.47) in the league.
  • The 100 free and 100 fly times were both NCAA B cuts, with the 100 free also setting a new America East record.
  • This is Lanfear’s fourth #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
 
Male Diver of the Week
Anders Logas, UMBC – Jr., Carrollton, Texas
  • Placed third in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the Bucknell Invitational.
  • Scored a 304.70 in the 3-meter event and 269.75 in the 1-meter event.
  • This is Logas’ first #AESD Diving of the Week honor this year.
 
Male Rookie of the Week
Evan Peters, Binghamton – Fr., Rush, N.Y.
  • Prelim time of 4:25.80 in the 500 free is the top mark in the conference, while his 200 free time (1:37.76) is third and his 200 back time (1:48.13) is the second-best in the league.
  • Also set a new conference record in the 400 free relay (2:56.25).
  • This is Peter’s second #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
