Maine Captures #AEWSOC Regular-Season Title, Championship Bracket Announced

BOSTON – After a thrilling America East women’s soccer regular season, it’s time to crown a champion.  The 2024 America East Women’s Soccer Championship bracket is set as the final seeds and matchups were finalized on Thursday after Maine captured its first-ever regular-season title.
 
The championship commences on Sunday with quarterfinal action. All games of the 2024 America East Women’s Soccer Championship will air on ESPN+ domestically and AmericaEast.TV internationally. The final seeds for the 2024 America East Women’s Soccer Championship are:
 
    1. Maine – First-ever regular-season title and No. 1 seed
    2. New Hampshire – Seeded 2nd for second time in 3 years; most wins since 2017
    3. Binghamton – Been seeded 3rd or better three-straight years
    4. UMass Lowell – Fifth-straight season hosting an #AEChamps contest
    5. Bryant – Back in the championship after missing out in 2023
    6. Vermont – Reached semifinals as #6 seed a year ago

Maine earned its first ever regular-season crown with a 1-0 win at second-place New Hampshire on Abby Kraemer’s goal in the 23rd minute. Both the Black Bears and Wildcats will enjoy a quarterfinal round bye. Binghamton earned the No. 3 seed with a 4-0 victory over UAlbany, while UMass Lowell beat Bryant 1-0 on Marissa Saucedo’s late score in the 85th minute to earn the No. 4 seed. Bryant earned the No. 5 seed over Vermont based on goal differential in conference games.
 
No. 3 Binghamton will host No. 6 Vermont in the first quarterfinal on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. while No. 4 UMass Lowell will host No. 5 Bryant again in the other quarterfinal at 3 p.m.
 
The winner of UMass Lowell-Bryant will visit #1 Maine in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 7 and the Binghamton-Vermont winner will square off against #2 New Hampshire in Durham. Both semifinals will start shortly after 6 p.m.

The semifinal winners will face off for the 2024 conference title at the higher remaining seed on Sunday, Nov. 10.
