#AESD Week 3 Awards: Three Schools Earn Weekly honors

BOSTON – The Binghamton men, Bryant women and New Hampshire women all earned victories over conference opponents last weekend to highlight a strong week of action.
 
Binghamton hosted Bryant, with the Bearcat men securing an impressive 232-121 win while the Bulldog women won 195-158. Elsewhere, New Hampshire hosted Vermont and the Wildcats earned a 183-117 victory. Maine hosted Maine Maritime.
 
On Friday, UMBC competes in quad meet with Loyola, Towson and Mount St. Mary’s on, along with New Hampshire at Central Connecticut.
 
Saturday, both UMBC and UNH continue their meets, while VMI begins its season and Binghamton travels to Bucknell.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Lauren Kuzma, Binghamton – Sr., Garden City, N.Y.
  • Lauren Kuzma won a meet-best and career-best three events in Binghamton's dual meet against Bryant.
  • Won the 100 breast (1:03.81), 400 IM (4:28.83) and 200 breast (2:17.33), all which rank as the best times in the league this season.
  • This is Kuzmas’s first #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor this year.
 
Female Diver of the Week
Megan Beasley, Bryant  – So., Harrogate, England
  • Won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against conference foe Binghamton.
  • Finished with a league-high 284.10 in the 1-meter diving event and then a 247.05
  • This is Beasley’s third career #AESD Diving of the Week honor.
 
Female Rookie of the Week
Amela Labno, New Hampshire – Fr., Rosemount, Minn.
  • Won a pair of events in college debut, with a top time in the league.
  • Took first in both the 100 back (58.26) and 200 back (2:05.37). The 200 backstroke ranks first in the conference while the 100 backstroke is third.
  • This is Labno’s first #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
 
Male Swimmer of the Week
Elijah Lanfear, Binghamton – Sr., Binghamton, N.Y.
  • Won three individual events and was on a pair of first-place relay teams, leading Binghamton to a 232-121 win over Bryant.
  • Lanfear swept the 100 back (50.34), 50 free (20.74) and the 100 fly (48.50), all of which are the fastest times in the league this year.
  • This is Lanfear’s second #AESD Swimmer of the Week honor this season.
 
Male Diver of the Week
Christopher Buonocore, Bryant – Jr., Long Beach, N.Y.
  • Won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving events against Binghamton.
  • Finished with a 300.83 in the 3-meter event and posted a 284.33 in the 1-meter event.
  • This is Buonocore first #AESD Diving of the Week honor this year.
 
Male Rookie of the Week
Tyler Schultz, Binghamton – Fr., Binghamton, N.Y.
  • Won two individual events and was on a pair of first-place relay teams in Binghamton's dual meet victory over Bryant.
  • Took first in the 100 breast (57.10) and 200 IM (1:55.66). The 100 breast time is the best in the league this season, while the 200 IM is the second fastet.
  • This is Schultz’s first #AESD Rookie of the Week honor.
