BOSTON – The Great Danes pushed their win streak to 14 with a pair of impressive victories last week, while Vermont also went 2-0 last week to highlight a competitive week of women’s #AEHoops action.
The Week That Was
- UAlbany conquered its biggest test in over a month on Thursday, using a strong defense to beat Maine 54-47 to take over sole possession of first place. The Great Danes followed it up with a 54-46 victory over UNH on Saturday.
- Vermont opened with a 62-53 matinee win against UMass Lowell and followed it up with a dominant 61-35 decision against Bryant to improve to 6-1 in league play.
- Maine rebounded from a tough loss to UAlbany by taking down Binghamton 59-56 and improve to 6-1 in #AEHoops action.
- Bryant and Binghamton both went 1-1 on the week, while UMBC earn a victory in its lone contest.
Looking Ahead
- The Catamounts and Great Danes face off on Thursday in Albany and then both teams hit the road for contests on Saturday. A win for Vermont would put the two teams tied with 7-1 records.
- Maine is home on Thursday evening and then travels down to Bryant on Saturday.
- Bryant, UMass Lowell and UMBC are all currently tied for fourth in league play at 3-4. The Bulldogs play on the road and at home, while the River Hawks are on the road twice and UMBC plays a pair of home contests.

Player of the Week
Emma Utterback, Vermont – Gr., G, Greenwood, Ind.
- Averaged 15.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week.
- Part of a defense that only allowed 43.5 points per game to teams right behind them in the standings.
- Best game was 17 points, six assists and three steals in a 63-53 victory over UMass Lowell on Thursday.
- This is Utterback’s seventh career #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Deja Evans, UAlbany – Fr., F, Conshohocken, Pa.
- Averaged 12.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 1.5 assists as UAlbany stayed perfect in league play.
- Finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, six blocks while helping to hold Maine to its second-lowest point total of the season and take over first place in the #AEHoops standings.
- This is Evans’ third #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
