Unbeaten Vermont & UMass Lowell Face Off Thursday

BOSTON – UMass Lowell sits atop the Men’s #AEHoops standings at 5-0, while Vermont is also unbeaten at 4-0 as the two teams square off on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Bryant is 4-0 as well and hosts the Catamounts on Saturday at 4 p.m. to highlight a strong week of #AEHoops action.
 
All games during conference play can be found on ESPN+ or ESPN3 on the AE of ESPN Home Page in the United States. Fans located internationally can watch all the action on AmericaEast.TV.
 
THURSDAY, JANUARY 25
Vermont (4-0 AE) at UMass Lowell (5-0 AE) – 6:30 PM
Two of the three remain unbeaten team square off in the Costello Athletic Center with win streaks on the line. The Catamounts have won 19 straight games against conference opponents, the longest streak in the nation, with their last loss taking place at Costello against UML 2023. The River Hawks, meanwhile, have won seven straight overall and 23 consecutive games in Costello, dating back to the 2021-22 season.
 
In conference play, UML is third in the league in scoring (83.0) and third in scoring defense (71.0.), while shooting 50.2 percent from the floor. Five players are averaging double figures, led by Max Brooks at 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. Brayden O’Connor is 13-for-20 from beyond the arc and averaging 15.2 points per game.
 
The Catamounts have relied on their defense and through four #AEHoops games own the top scoring defense (61.8), while ranking fourth in scoring offense at 75.0 points per game for a league-best 13.3 scoring margin. Eight players are averaging at least 6.0 points per game. TJ Long and Ileri Ayo-Faleye are the only two in double figures at 12.3 and 10.3 points per game.
 
UAlbany (2-2 AE) at Maine (1-3 AE) – 6 PM
The Great Danes dropped consecutive games to UMass Lowell and Bryant last week, while Maine is coming off its first conference victory, at NJIT. UAlbany is second in scoring offense in league play (84.8), but ranks dead last in scoring defense (85.8). The Black Bears are second in scoring defense (69.5), but seventh scoring offense (66.8).
 
Bryant (4-0 AE) at NJIT (0-5 AE) – 7 PM
The Bulldogs have won all four of their conference games by at least eight points and are averaging an #AEHoops-best 86.3 points per game while giving up just 74.8 per contest. Sherif Gross-Bullock is putting up 26.8 ppg and shooting 15-for-32 from three. NJIT is fifth in scoring defense (73.0) through five games, but is ninth in scoring offense (63.2).  
 
Binghamton (0-4 AE) at New Hampshire (3-2 AE) – 7 PM
Following two straight road wins, the Wildcats are back home against the Bearcats, who are seeking their first conference victory in 2024. Through four games they are eighth in scoring (66.5), scoring defense (83.5) and field goal percentage (41.6%). UNH is fifth in scoring (72.4) and fourth in scoring defense (73.0). They’re led by Clarence Daniels, who ranks second in the conference averaging 21.2 points per game.
 
 
SATURDAY, JANUARY 27

2 PM – Binghamton (0-4 AE) at Maine (1-3 AE)
4 PM – Vermont (4-0 AE) at Bryant (4-0 AE)
