Indoor #AETF Resumes in 2023 with Success

Boston, MA - Seven out of nine schools made their 2023 debut for their indoor seasons after a short stint over the winter break. Success comes back to the track and field with many personal bests, record breaking performances and even a few team victories for the New Hampshire men’s team, and both the men and women Vermont Catamounts. 
 
Here are the week 3 #AETF weekly awards: 
 
Female Track Performer of the Week 
Caitlyn Bobb, UMBC - Jr., Sprints, Joppa, MD
  • Took 3rd in the 200m with a time of 24.27. This time sits Bobb at first in the conference as well as 4th in the Mid-Atlantic Region and tied for 41 in the NCAA.
  • Bobb also anchored the 4x400, helping the Retrievers to a 4th place finish with a time of 3:47.90 and a split of 54.0. UMBC keeps the top spot with this time improving by 2.5 seconds and sits them 4th in the Mid-Atlantic Region
 
Female Field Performer of the Week 
Ava Roberts, UMBC - Jr., Throws, Elkins Park, PA
  • Took fifth in shot put with a throw of 48’7.5” at the Nittany Lion Challenge 
  • Roberst sits at first on the America East leaderboard for shot put and 5th in the Mid-Atlantic Region
 

Male Track Performer of the Week  

Liam Meginniss, UMBC - So., Distance, Smyrna, DE

  • Meginniss finished 6th in the 1,000m at the Nittany Lion Challenge

  • His time of 2:26.54 sets a new personal best for Meginniss, is the 5th best time in UMBC school history, and puts him at the top of the America East leaderboard for the 1,000m

 

Male Field Performer of the Week 

Jordan Lindinger-Asamoah, NJIT - Fr., Jumps, Vienna, Austria

  • Lindinger-Asamoah took second place at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartan Invite in the triple jump with a distance of 48’ 10” 

  • He also placed in the top-10 (9th) in the long jump with a PR jump of 21’ 7.5” which puts him at 9th in the conference leaderboard
