Men's Basketball 1/13/2024 10:37:06 PM Men's #AEHoops Jan. 13 Recap BOSTON – UMass Lowell and Vermont both improved to 3-0 in conference play while UAlbany and Bryant moved to 2-0 with victories on Saturday. UMass Lowell 86, UMBC 82 – Box Score The River Hawks had no problem scoring in the first half, opening up a 45-31 lead. However, UMBC went on a 13-3 run in the second half to pull within four, and then closed the gap to just two points in the final minute. UMass Lowell made their free throws to earn the win. Max Brooks was a force with 24 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks while Ayinde Hikim had 14 points and nine assists. Dion Brown finished with 23 points and ten rebound to lead the Retrievers. Vermont 76, NJIT 55 – Box Score The Catamount offense put up 37 points in the first half to grab a 16-point lead. They stretched the advantage as high as 27 points in the final ten minutes on the way to the 21-point victory, extending their #AEHoops win streak to 18. Jace Roquemore had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists while Aaron Deloney added 12 points and seven assists. Elijah Buchanan had 11 points and five rebounds for NJIT. UAlbany 95, Binghamton 75 – Box Score For the third time this season the Great Danes surpassed 90 points, taking down Binghamton by 20 points. UAlbany led by ten at the half and stretched its lead as high as 22 points in the final ten minutes for a second straight win. Sebastian Thomas had 30 points, seven assists and four rebounds while Muneer Newton supplied 13 points and 13 rebounds off the bench. Armon Harried led Binghamton with 19 points and eight rebounds. Bryant 89, New Hampshire 74 – Box Score UNH jumped out to an early lead but 13 straight from the Bulldogs gave them the lead and they had a 44-40 advantage at the break. In the second half, Bryant’s offense kept firing and the visitors never let UNH get closer than ten points over the final 13 minutes of action. Daniel Rivera was all over the court with 25 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks, while Earl Timberlake added 15 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. UNH’s Ahmad Robinson put up 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.
