BOSTON – Maine scored twice in the final three minutes of regulation for a 3-2 victory to start conference play, while Binghamton had a shutout to also secure a conference-opening #AEWSOC win.
The Black Bears trailed UVM 2-1 in the final five minutes, but notched two goals at home in the last three minutes to escape with the win. Maine has won three straight and at 6-0-3 is one of 18 teams nationwide who are unbeaten this year. Binghamton, meanwhile, snapped a three match winless streak with its 1-0 shutout of reigning champion New Hampshire. In other #AEWSOC action, Bryant and UMBC played to a 2-2 draw while NJIT and UAlbany tied 1-1.
This Sunday features four more conference contests. Maine travels to UAlbany, while Binghamton hosts UMBC. UMass Lowell begins conference play by hosting NJIT and Bryant welcomes New Hampshire.

Kaitlyn Williams, Binghamton – Jr., Goalkeeper, Clinton, N.Y.
- Went 2-0 with one shutout and 14 saves last week.
- Stopped seven shots to earn 1-0 shutout of defending #AEWSOC Champion UNH.
- Made seven saves in a 2-2 draw with Cornell.
- This is Williams’ second career #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Luise Reinwald, Maine - Fr., Defender, Munich, Germany
- Scored game-tying goal in Maine’s 3-2 victory over Vermont.
- Tallied a goal with just 2:34 remaining to bring the Black Bears even and finished with two shots in the game.
- This is Reinwald’s second career #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week honor.
