#AETF Trio Headed to NCAA Outdoor Championships

AUSTIN, TX - A total of three America East student-athletes are headed to Austin, Texas to compete in the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships after qualifying at the NCAA East preliminaries. The championships will begin Wednesday, June 7 and go through Saturday, June 10 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, TX. 
 
Louis Gordon of UAlbany will be the first of the America East athletes competing at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The long jump champion and record holder, qualified for NCAAs with his distance of 25’4” at the NCAA East preliminaries. Gordon will compete in the long jump on the national stage on Wednesday, June 7 starting at 8:00 p.m (CST).
 
Aziza Chigatayeva from Binghamton will compete in the 3000m steeplechase after qualifying in the NCAA East preliminaries with a time of 10:02.11. The four-time America East steeplechase champion will compete in the 3000m steeplechase preliminaries on Thursday, June 8 at approximately 8:02 p.m (CST) looking to advance into the finals which are scheduled for 8:24 CST on Saturday, June 10. 
 
UMass Lowell’s Kenzie Doyle continues her impressive season after being crowned America East champion in the 10k and 5k, she will now compete in the 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after punching her ticket with her qualifying time of 33:53.23. Doyle will compete in the finals on Thursday, June 8 at approximately 10:08 p.m (CST). 
 
Previously, 22 America East student-athletes have qualified for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the past seven years.
