BOSTON, Mass. – This week 24 America East student-athletes look to earn a ticket to the NCAA Track & Field Championships when they compete in the NCAA East Region Meet Wednesday through Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Overall eight of nine America East programs will be represented, including a league-best seven individuals from UAlbany. The Great Danes will have one relay competing as well. UMass Lowell was second with four individuals to qualify, while UMBC had three.
Individuals must finish in the top 12 of their events this week to qualify for the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Austin, Texas, at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas from June 7 through June 10.
Travis Williams of UAlbany has the highest seed of any #AETF athlete, as he is currently ranked 10
th in the 100 meters. UMass Lowell’s James Kotowski is ranked 13
th in the javelin while Binghamton’s Aziza Chigatayeva is 14
th in the 3000m steeplechase while Kenzie Doyle is 14
th in the 10,000 meters.
