BOSTON - The 2023 America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships get underway Saturday at the University at Albany.
For the third time in conference history, all #AETF teams will travel to UAlbany on Saturday in search of the 2023 #AETF Championship Title. The two-day event will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv and begins with the women’s hammer throw at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
- LAST YEAR: UAlbany Great Danes swept the America East Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the 13th consecutive year. With more than a 100-point margin, the women won its 13th championship in a row with 246 points. And the men won their 17th straight title with 235 points.
- LAST TIME AT UALBANY: The last time UAlbany played host to the #AETF Championships was in 2019, UAlbany took both the men’s and women’s titles. Last time at UAlbany, there were 8 records either tied or broken by the #AETF athletes.
- REGIONAL RANKINGS: 6 institutions have broken into the top-25 of the regional rankings for both men and women teams. A total of 8 men’s teams have broken into the top-25 with the regional rankings. The pack has been consistently led by both UAlbany men’s and women's teams being ranked as high as 8th and 4th respectively this season.
- ONES TO WATCH
- Shannon Bailey, UAlbany - The 2022 high jump champion, currently sits at tied for second in the conference for high jump and tied for the 9th spot in the Northeast Regional rankings.
- Caitlyn Bobb, UMBC - Bobb had a debut freshman season being the 2022 Most Outstanding Track Performer, 2022 Most Outstanding Rookie and Coaches’ Award recipient. She is currently tied for the 200 record and is the 2022 champion of the 200m and 400m. Bobb ranks first in the conference for the 400m and 6th in the 200m.
- Aziza Chigatayeva, Binghamton - Chigatayeva has won the 3,000m steeplechase for the past 3 years, she is looking to return as a 4 time champion in this event. She is currently in the top 25 in the nation for the event with her time of sub 10 minutes at 9:58.02.
- Drew Everett, UMass Lowell - Everett is the 2022 5,000m champion. He currently sits at 3rd in the conference for the 5,000m and is number 2 in the 10,000m.
- Kevin McGrath, New Hampshire - The 2022 high jump champion, after winning gold in the Indoor Championship, returns looking for his second consecutive outdoor title in the high jump. McGrath sits at the top of the conference leaderboard and tied for second in the Northeast Region with a height of 6’10.25”.
- Travis Robinson, UAlbany - Robinson was the 2022 Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2022 championships. The 2022 shot put and discus champion returns this year currently ranks 3rd for discus and 4th for shot put on the conference leaderboard.
- Shak Williams, UAlbany - The current 100m record holder, and the 2022 Most Outstanding Track Performer, and recipient of the Coaches’ Award at the 2022 championship returns to the track. Williams is 2nd in the conference for the 100m and 3rd for 200m.
- Mackenzie Wilson, Maine - Wilson is the current conference leader in hammer throw. The three-time weekly award recipient is currently ranked 42nd in the NCAA and is searching for her first America East title.
