UAlbany, Maine & UMass Lowell Take Home Week 5 #AETF Awards

BOSTON - All nine schools competed this weekend, with UAlbany and UMass Lowell both hosting meets this weekend. Teams are starting to gear up with busy schedules ahead. Many are off to Penn Relays next weekend and then Outdoor Championships right around the corner.

This week’s rankings are highlighted by UAlbany men’s and women’s teams moving up two spots. The men are now in 8th, while the women are now in 7th in the Northeast. The UMBC men’s team jumped four spots from last week in the Mid-Atlantic Region and are now in the top 15 at 15. The UMass Lowell women have moved up two spots since last week and are now ranked 18th in the Northeast Region. And finally highlighting the rankings, New Hampshire women are now in the top-25 of the Northeast teams moving up one spot from last week to put them at 25.

Male Track Performer of the Week
Easton Reagan, UAlbany - Gr., Sprints/Hurdles, Rotterdam, N.Y. 
  • Regan tied the meet record at the Bobbi Palma UAlbany Spring Classic in the 400 Hurdles with a time of 53.11. This ranks him 3rd in the conference and 10th in the Northeast Region. 
  • In the 400m, Reagan took 1st with a personal best of 48.14. This ranks him 4th in the conference
Male Field Performer of the Week 
Louis Gordon, UAlbany - Jr., Jumps, Bodden Town, Grand Cayman
  • Won gold in the long jump with a distance of 25’0”
  • Gordon is now the leader of the conference in the high jump, and within the top 50 in the NCAA at tied for 49th. 
Female Track Performer of the Week 
Izzy Giesing, UMass Lowell - Gr., Middle Distance/Distance, Bradford, Vt.
  • Giesing placed 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:03.81 
  • Giesing is now ranked 18th in the NCAA and has qualified for NCAA Regionals
Female Field Performer of the Week
Mackenzie Wilson, Maine - Sr., Throws, Lasalle, Ontario
  • Wilson set a new school record and took home gold in the hammer throw with a throw of 202’0”
  • She ranked first in the conference and is 41st in the NCAA after her weekend performance
