BOSTON – Vermont stretched its win streak to eight games with a victory over UAlbany, while NJIT earned a pair of wins to move over .500 in Women’s #AEHoops action this past week.
The Week That Was
- The Catamounts nearly led wire-to-wire against the Great Danes on their way to a 53-49 victory. It was their eighth straight win matching the program’s longest win streak since 2008.
- NJIT bounced back from a two-game losing streak to earn victories against New Hampshire and UMass Lowell this past week and improve to 6-4 in conference play.
- Binghamton earned a win in its long contest last week, taking down UMBC 80-70.
Looking Ahead
- Women’s #AEHoops action on Wednesday features a battle for second place as Vermont hosts Maine at 6 p.m.
- Wednesday is also highlighted by Bryant hosting UAlbany, New Hampshire at Binghamton and UMBC against NJIT.
- Saturday’s biggest contests feature Binghamton at UAlbany and NJIT at Maine.
A reminder that every round of the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs will take place on the higher seed’s home court so earning home court advantage will prove crucial once again. The league champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live!. The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.
The women’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 19.

Player of the Week
Kenna Squier, NJIT – Sr., Guard, Branchville, N.J.
- Averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 68% from the field in two wins.
- Finished with 22 points, ten rebounds, three assists and three steals in a comeback victory against UMass Lowell while playing 39 minutes.
- Totaled 14 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals in a win against New Hampshire.
- This is Squier’s second career Women’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Jaydn Weltz, Binghamton – Fr., Guard, Ontario, Canada
- Tallied ten points, 12 assists, five rebounds and three steals in a win over UMBC.
- The 12 assists are the most in the America East this season and most by an #AEHoops freshmen since 2016.
- This is Weltz’s third #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
