BOSTON – Vermont stretched its win streak to 14 games, while UAlbany swept both of its contests last week as the two teams finished with matching 14-2 conference records atop the standings to conclude an exciting regular season on Saturday.
The Week That Was
- UAlbany was the first team to clinch a share of the conference title with its 59-49 win at NJIT.
- The Catamounts took care of business at well, pulling away from Bryant in the second half for a 64-41 victory. UVM earned the top seed in the tournament thanks to its 2-0 mark against Maine, while the Great Danes were only 1-1 against the Black Bears.
- UMass Lowell continued its impressive finish to the season, extending its winning streak to three games with a victory over UNH to clinch the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.
- Maine also came up with a crucial win on the final day of the regular season, 69-65, over Binghamton to secure the No. 3 seed.
Looking Ahead
- The Jersey Mike’s Women’s #AEPlayoffs begin on Wednesday with four quarterfinal contests at the home court of each of the top four seeds. All games can be watched on ESPN+.
- No. 8 Bryant at No. 1 Vermont – 5 PM
- No. 7 UMass Lowell at No. 2 UAlbany – 7 PM
- No. 6 Binghamton at No. 3 Maine – 7 PM
- No. 5 NJIT at No. 4 UMBC – 7 PM
Winning teams in the quarterfinals will be re-seeded, with the highest remaining seed facing the lowest remaining seed. The semifinals take place on Sunday, March 5 and the Championship will be at the highest remaining seed on Friday, March. 10.

Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Adrianna Smith, Maine – So., Forward, Reston, Va.
- Averaged 25.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week.
- Posted 31 points, 19 rebounds and three assists to lead Maine over Binghamton to clinch the No. 3 seed.
- Opened the week with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a win over UNH.
- This is Smith’s fourth Women’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honor this year.
Rookie of the Week
Jadyn Weltz, Binghamton – Fr., Guard, Ontario, Canada
- Averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.0 assists per game in an 0-2 week.
- Scored a career-high 23 points with 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals in a loss at Maine.
- Posted four points, three rebounds and three steals in a loss to UVM.
- This is Weltz’s fourth #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
