BOSTON – Vermont outlasted Bryant on Saturday evening to clinch a share of its first women's #AEHoops regular season championship since 2002 and earn the top seed over UAlbany in the Jersey Mike’s Women’s #AEHoops Playoffs
Both UAlbany and Vermont concluded the regular season with matching 14-2 records to share the regular-season title. The two teams went 1-1 against each other this year and the Great Danes were 1-1 against No. 3 seed Maine, while the Catamounts earned the sweep over the Black Bears to secure the tiebreak for the top seed.
The Jersey Mike’s #AEPlayoffs begin on March 1 with quarterfinal action. For the fifth-straight year, the excitement of postseason basketball will take place on a minimum of four America East campuses with the higher seeds hosting each round. Semifinals will take place on March 5, with the Championship set for Friday, March 10 at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.

#1 Vermont Catamounts (22-6, 14-2)
Vermont secured its first regular season title and top seed since 2002 as the Catamounts search for their first tournament championship since 2010. UVM’s 14-game win streak is the eighth longest active win streak in the nation.
#2 UAlbany Great Danes (20-10, 14-2)
UAlbany earned a share of its first regular season title since 2016 with its win today. The Great Danes are the No. 2 seed for the second straight season and secured the program’s second consecutive 20-win season.
#3 Maine Black Bears (15-13, 11-5)
Maine is a top-three seed for the sixth consecutive year by winning three of the team’s final four games.
#4 UMBC Retrievers (13-14, 10-6)
UMBC secured its highest conference win total and best seed since 2017, while reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
#5 NJIT Highlanders (13-15, 8-8)
NJIT finished with a record of .500 or better in conference play and earned a top-five seed for the second straight year.
#6 Binghamton Bearcats (13-16, 6-10)
Binghamton secured a top-six seed for the eighth consecutive year.
#7 UMass Lowell River Hawks (5-21, 4-12)
UMass Lowell won its final three games to jump to the No. 7 seed and reach the playoffs for the fourth straight year.
#8 Bryant Bulldogs (9-19, 3-13)
Bryant reached the playoffs in its inaugural season in the America East.
