Off to the Races for the First Day of #AETF Championships

DAY 1 RESULTS

 A successful opening day at the TRACK at New Balance for the #AETF Championships. The first day of the 2023 #AETF Championship was highlighted by multiple first-time champions on Saturday.
 
After the first of two days of competition, Binghamton men and UMass Lowell women are at the top of the standings thanks to some impressive performances.

For the second year in a row, Ludith Campos defended her weight throw title, tying her record of 58' 10". Binghamton took home the men's weight throw championship with Jaston Ormsby with a throw of 67' 11".
 
Maine first year, Evan Thornton-Sherman won the 5,000m pulling away at the end with a blazing time of 14:28.30.
 
Competing in the America East Track and Field Championship for the first time Bryant managed a gold, as the Bulldogs took home first in the DMR with a new school record.

  • Binghamton’s Alyssa Armitage won the women’s pole vault clearing a height of 12' 4"
  • Louis Gordon of UAlbany defended his long jump title jumping a distance of 24' 3¾"
  • Binghamton’s Brandon Love took home the pole vault title clearing a height of 15' 7"
  • UAlbany’s Efe Omokeni won the women’s long jump with a distance of 19' 4"
  • Top seeded Kenzie Doyle took home the women’s 5,000m title with a time of 17:07.34
  • Vermont’s Lauren Triarsi took home the pentathlon title with a score of 3,425
  • UMass Lowell women’s DMR team was crowned champions with a time of 11:51.43
