BOSTON - Seven out of nine schools competed this weekend in preparation of the #AETF Championships starting this weekend. With just four days away, all nine schools are gearing up to go to the TRACK at New Balance in Boston. The two-day event will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv both days. Here are the week 7 #AETF Award Winners - Feb. 14
Female Track Performer of the Week
Aziza Chigatayeva, Binghamton - Sr., Distance, Brooklyn, N.Y.
- Took 35th in the 5000m with a personal best of 16:15.65. She is ranked second in the conference and eighth in the northeast region.
- Chigatayeva ran the second best time in Binghamton’s program history.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Ludith Campos, UAlbany - Gr., Throws, Mount Vernon, N.Y.
- Took home first in the weight throw with a season best of 66’9.25”
- Campos remains 1st in the conference, 3rd in the northeast and, 31st in the nation
Male Track Performer of the Week
Travis Williams, UAlbany - So., Sprints, Bronx, N.Y.
- Placed second in the 60m with a new personal best of 6.59, breaking his own school record.
- Remains on top of the leaderboard in the conference and in the northeast. Williams now moves to tied for 11th nation and is one of 12 that ran under 6.60 in the nation.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Brandon Love, Binghamton - Jr., Pole vault/Sprints, East Meadow, N.Y.
- Took home 3rd in the pole value with a height of 16’0.75”
- Love’s personal best puts him on top of the America East leaderboard and tied for 9th in the northeast.
