Men's #AEHoops Week 14: Standings Tight as Season Hits Stretch Run

BOSTON – The America East men’s basketball season is two-thirds of the way complete the standings are as tight as ever. Five teams are within one game of second place as stretch run begins and teams battle for a top four seed and the right to host a Jersey Mike’s #AEPlayoffs game.
  • Vermont extended its win streak to seven games with a pair of wins last week.
  • The Catamounts top the league standings at 9-2, two games up on second-place Binghamton.
  • The Bearcats posted back-to-back wins and have won three of their last four overall to leap into second place at 7-4.
  • Four teams have five losses, led by UMBC, which beat both NJIT and Bryant last week.
  • UMass Lowell won its 20th game last week, a first for the program at the Division I level.
  • Bryant’s Sherif Gross-Bullock scored an America East season-high 39 points vs. UMBC on Saturday.
  • Maine's 10 wins are its most since the 2012-13 season. The Black Bears beat UMBC on Saturday.
Conference positioning will again prove key for the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs. Every round of the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs will take place on the higher seed’s home court and earning home court advantage will prove crucial once again. Check out the men's #AEPlayoffs Central to learn more!

The league champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, where America East teams have won nine games all-time, including UMBC’s historic upset of Virginia in 2018.
