BOSTON- The 2023 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships are slated for this weekend Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 18th-19th. The two-day event will be streamed live on AmericaEast.tv with two links one for throws and one for all other events, beginning with the men’s weight throw at 10 a.m. Saturday morning. All nine institutions will compete at the TRACK at New Balance for the first time in #AETF Championship history.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW
- 2022: UAlbany women and UMass Lowell men enter as defending champions. For the second time in program history, the River Hawks took home the trophy with a total of 215 points, the highest scoring total of any team since UAlbany in 2014. The Great Danes captured their ninth consecutive win with a total of 180 points between the two days.
- Rankings: All nine institutions for both men’s and women’s teams have broken into the top 30 in their respective regional rankings at some point this season. The men have been led by UAlbany currently ranked 12th but getting as high as seventh this season. On the women’s side, it is also UAlbany that leads the pack sitting at the number six and getting as high as ranked fourth in the northeast region.
- Ones to Watch:
- Ludith Campos, UAlbany: The 2022 America East Champion in weight throw comes back with impressive performances. Campos currently sits at the top of the AE leader board for weight throw (64’ 11.5”) and is 3rd in the northeast.
- Dominique Clarke, UAlbany: The reigning 60m champion in the 60m, Clarke dominated with a personal best time of 7.38 putting her at the top of the conference and northeast region leaderboard.
- Daniel Cosgrove, UMass Lowell: The returning 2022 1000m champion is currently second in the AE standings for the 1000m and is also first in the conference for the mile.
- Kevin McGrath, New Hampshire: Returning high jump champion, McGrath currently sits at 2nd in the conference and tied for 9th in the northeast for his height of 6'8.75".
- Leann Nicholas, UAlbany: Nicholas is first in the northeast with her triple jump distance of 42’ 3.25” and is ranked 30th nationally.
- Shakur Williams, UAlbany: Williams is the reigning 60m champion and returns this season with an impressive 60m time sitting at second in the conference with a time of 6.66.
- Travis Williams, UAlbany: Williams is currently tied for 11th in the nation for the 60m with a record breaking time of 6.59.
