BOSTON – Following an impressive senior season, Binghamton outside hitterTsvetelina Ilieva has earned East Coast All-Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), as announced by the AVCA on Tuesday morning. The East Coast region comprises 35 teams, including teams from the ACC.
Ilieva was named East Coast All-Region honorable mention, the second consecutive All-Region selection for the senior. This past season was honored as the #AEVB Player of the Year for the second straight year as well as earning first-team all-conference honors.
The senior finished the regular season atop the conference standings in kills (4.49) and points (4.96) per set. Nationally, Ilieva ranks 17th in kills per set and 20th in points per set.
A five-time Player of the Week winner this season, Ilieva registered 10 double-doubles in 2023 with five performances of 20 or more kills, including a career-high 27 against Delaware State, Sept.. The senior outside hitter started in all 26 matches for Binghamton this season and recorded double-digit kills in all but three contests.
