The 2023-24 Indoor #AETF Season Returns with Record-Breaking Performances

BOSTON, MA - The 2023-24 Indoor #AETF season returned last weekend with seven out of nine schools that competed. An action packed weekend featured multiple school records broken, many personal bests set, 61 athletes breaking into the top-50 of the NCAA, and nine ranked within the top-10 of the NCAA.

Women’s Track Performer of the Week 
Kenzie Doyle, UMass Lowell - Gr., Distance, Swansea, MA
  • Took 10th in the 5,000m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. Doyle broke her own school record by more than 30 seconds, earning an impressive time of 15:27.42
  • This time qualifies Doyle for the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Her time is also in the top 30 fastest women's indoor 5,000m times in NCAA history.
  • She is currently ranked first in the Northeast and the conference in the 5,000m and 4th in the nation. 
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week 
Cheyenne Figueroa, Maine - Sr., Throws, Providence, RI
  • Figueroa took home gold in the weight throw at the Suffolk Relays 
  • Her throw of 64’11.25” not only broke the Maine school record but also ranked her 1st in the conference and the Northeast Region, as well as 5th in the NCAA. 
 
Men’s Track Performer of the Week 
Thomas Jordan, UMass Lowell - Gr., Sprints, Needham, MA
  • Finished second at the Suffolk Invitational with a time of 22.06 
  • His time ranks him tied for first in the conference and puts him at first in the Northeast region. Jordan is also tied for 22nd in the NCAA with his performance. 
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week 
Ibra Khairat, UMBC - Jr., Jumps, Ellicott City, Md.
  • Placed first in the triple jump, breaking a 14-year old UMBC school record with a distance of 51’0”. 
  • Khairat is ranked first in the NCAA, the Mid-Atlantic Region and in the conference in the triple jump
