Men's #AEHoops Week 4: Five Teams Win Twice

BOSTON – Five different teams won at least two games last week as eight of the league’s nine programs own a record of at least .500 or better.

  • Eight of the America East’s nine men’s basketball programs are at .500 or better.
  • The nine schools have combined to go 45-33 (.577) so far this season, including 12-5 last week.
  • The first NCAA Net data was released Monday with three #AEHoops teams ranked in the top 125: UMass Lowell (46), Vermont (115) and New Hampshire (122).
  • UAlbany stretched its win streak to four games with a pair of home victories at the brand new Broadview Center over Dartmouth and Boston University, improve its record to 5-3.
  • Maine also won twice, taking down Brown by 11 and Holy Cross by 15 on the road.
  • Vermont escaped with a 66-65 win over Yale with this Sportscenter top-10 play from TJ Long, and also beat Dartmouth 64-53.
  • New Hampshire also went undefeated last week, with a 90-84 win over Sacred Heart and a 80-71 victory against Columbia..
  • This week features 16 contests, including a pair of big matchups on Saturday as Vermont hosts Colgate (136 NET) and UMass Lowell travels to UMass (94 NET) for state supremacy.
     
America East Links Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

The men’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 18.
 
2023-24 Weekly Award Winners (Dec. 4)
Player of the Week
Ahmad Robinson, New Hampshire – Jr., Guard, West Orange, N.J.                                  
  • Averaged 21.3. points, 6.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in a 2-1 week for the Wildcats
  • Posted 19 points, six assists and two steals in a loss to No. 4 UConn.
  • Finished with 21 points, six assists and two steals while making nine free throws in the final 30 seconds to secure a 90-84 win over Sacred Heart.
  • This is Robinson’s first men’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honor this year.
 
Rookie of the Week
Sebastian Robinson, NJIT – Jr., Guard, Montclair, N.J.
  • Averaged 9.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game in two games.
  • Totaled 11 points, four rebounds and four assists in a close loss to FDU
  • This is Robinson’s third career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
