Vermont-UMBC Jan. 11 Matchup Chosen to Air on ESPNU

BOSTON – Conference play in  #AEHoops starts in less than two weeks and one of the first men’s matchups will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. The network has chosen the UMBC at Vermont matchup on Jan. 11  to be aired nationally. Tip time is 7 p.m.
 
This will mark the 17th-consecutive season that a men’s #AEHoops regular-season game will air on ESPNU. 
 
Vermont (9-4) and UMBC (5-9) have met in three of the last five America East title games. The Catamounts have the top NET in America East at 103 and have wins over Charleston, Yale, Saint Louis and Toledo this season. Dion Brown, who ranks third among league leaders in scoring (16.9 ppg), leads the Retrievers' high-scoring offense that ranks third in the conference averaging 74.3 points per game.

The 72-game league slate kicks off on Jan. 4.. Conference positioning will again prove key for the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs. Every round of the Jersey Mikes #AEPlayoffs will take place on the higher seed’s home court and earning home court advantage will prove crucial once again. Full Composite Schedule The league champion will earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, where America East teams have won nine games all-time, including UMBC’s historic upset of Virginia in 2018.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops home game on The AE on ESPN with all games airing on ESPN+  domestically and AmericaEast.TV internationally.
