BOSTON – The non-conference slate continued on last week with #AEHoops teams racking up eight more wins. Maine won a pair to extend it’s win streak to four games while UAlbany, Binghamton, Bryant, UMass Lowell, NJIT and Vermont all picked up wins.
The Round Up
- Seven of the America East’s nine men’s basketball programs are at .500 or better.
- The nine schools have combined to go 52-39 (.577) so far this season.
- Maine extended its win streak to four games with wins over Boston University and Central Conn. State.
- At 8-4, the Black Bears have their most non-league wins since the 2009-10 season.
- Binghamton has won back-to-back games after defeating LeMoyne, 91-79, on Saturday behind 31 points and 12 rebounds from Tymu Chenery.
- Only nine games takes place this week with teams taking breaks for finals.
- Conference play kicks off with four games on January 6.

Fans will once again be able to watch every #AEHoops game this season regardless of where they live! The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Player of the Week
Tymu Chenery, Binghamton – Sr., Guard, Philadelphia, Pa.
- Tallied a monster double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds in Binghamton's lone game of week, a win over LeMoyne on Saturday.
- Shot 13-of-17 from the floor including 5-of-6 from three-point land.
- The 13 made field goals are the most in a game by an #AEHoops player this season.
- This is Chenery’s first career men’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Ace Valentine, UMBC – Fr., Guard, Baltimore, Md.
- Averaged 7.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds over two games.
- Registered a career-best nine boards to go with eight points and five assists vs. Morgan State on Wednesday.
- Dished out a career-high nine dimes and added six points and two steals vs. Towson on Saturday.
- This is Valentine’s first career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
