#AESD Week 6: 4 Programs Earn Weekly Honors

BOSTON – Each weekly award winner helped their teams earn some big time wins this week, highlighted by an NJIT squad that took down Villanova. This was the Highlanders first win over a Big East Foe since taking down Providence in 2019.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Ella Guilfoil, UNH – So., Fairport, N.Y.

  • Helped the Wildcats win their sole meet of the week, earning 3 individual and 1 relay first-place finishes.
  • In individual events, won the 200 breast (2:28:52), and set the pool recording for both the 100 back (56:99) and 200 IM (2:07:76).
Male Swimmer of the Week Francois Malherbe, NJIT – Fr., Stellenbosch, South Africa
  • Helped NJIT earn their first win over a Big East opponent since 2019, picking up 3 individual and 1 relay victory as the Highlanders defeated Villanova.
  • Won the 50 Free (20.42), 100 Free (44.69), and 100 Fly (49.99) while also swimming on the winning 400 Free Relay (3:05.31).
Female Diver of the Week Tannah Proudfoot, Vermont – Fr., Johannesburg, South Africa
  • Captured first-place in the 1m with her score of 252.03.
  • Finished over 31 points ahead of the next closest competitor to earn first in the 3m (278.78).
Male Diver of the Week Christopher Buonocore, Bryant – So., Long Beach, N.Y.
  • Earned 18 points for the Bulldogs in their first win of the season.
  • Won first in both the 1m (271.60) and 3m (245.00).
