BOSTON – The 2023-24 Women’s #AEHoops season is here with 22 contests during the first week of the year as the league looks to make a splash. Follow along with this article below to catch up on all the big wins as they happen over the first seven days.

Monday, Nov. 6
NJIT 73, at Army 57 - Box Score
The Highlanders jumped out to a 25-7 lead after one quarter and never looked back on their way to an impressive season-opening victory. 2022-23 #AEHoops Rookie of the Year Alejandra Zuniga led the way with 23 points and five rebounds while Kenna Squier added 16.

at Vermont 60, Miami 48 – Box Score
The defending champion held just a one-point lead at the half but pushed the pace in the second half to come away with a 60-48 victory over the RedHawks at home to begin the season. Emma Utterback had 20 points and seven assists while Anna Olson added 20 points and seven boards.

at Bryant 70, Dartmouth 52 - Box Score
The Bulldogs gave Lynne-Ann Kokoski a victory in her first contest as a head coach thanks to a great effort defensively and excellent offensive execution. Three players scored in double figures, led by freshman Mia Mancini with 20 points and five threes.

at Quinnipiac 70, Maine 57 – Box Score
Maine led 19-12 after the first quater, but Quinnipiac outscored the Black Bears by 19 points in the second and third quarters to put the game away. Anne Simone finished with 11 points and six rebounds while Adrianna Smith had 10 points and nine rebounds.

at Boston U. 60, UMass Lowell 58 – Box Score
The River Hawks outscored the Terriers by seven points in the second half, but fell on a BU buzzer beater after Leilani Rodriguez tied the contest with a pair of free throws with just 21 seconds remaining. Rodriguez finished the game with 20 points and two assists in the loss.

at UNH 73, U. of New England 39 – Box Score
The Wildcats held UNH to just 17 second-half points to earn the season-opening victory. Avery O'Connor led UNH with 18 points off the bench in 18 minutes.

at Binghamton 72, Bloomsburg 59 – Box Score
The Bearcats put up 28 points in the opening quarter and led 45-25 at the half as they cruised to victory on Monday. Jadyn Weltz filled up the stat sheet with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

UAlbany 58, at Merrimack 55 – Box Score
It was back-and-forth all game long with Merrimack cutting the UAlbany lead to one possesion multiple times in the fourth quarter, however, the Great Danes held on for the win as a last-second three was off the mark. Transfer Sarah Karpell led the offense with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists.

at Towson 76, UMBC 72 – Box Score
The Retrievers nearly took down CAA preseason favorite Towson on the road. They trailed by as many seven in the fourth before taking a late 70-69 lead, and tying at 72. However the Tigers scored the final four points to pull off the win. Transfer Jordan Lewis paced the offense with 24 points.
 
Wednesday, Nov. 8
at UMBC 90, Gettysburg 83 (4OT) – Box Score
In the longest game in UMBC women's basketball history, it was the Retrievers who came out on top. They forced the first overtime with a great run to end regulation and finally won 90-83 in four overtimes. Carmen Yanez played an impressive 56 minutes, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Thursday, Nov. 9
Maine 58 at La Salle 48 - Box Score
Maine outscored La Salle 24-16 in the second half to earn its first win of 2023-24. The Black Bears had three players score in double figures, led by Anne Simon with 20 points, ten rebounds and four steals. Adrianna Smith added 12 points and 15 rebounds. 

Siena 73 at Binghamton 64 - Box Score
The Saints outscored the Bearcats 46-24 in the middle two quarters to come away with a 73-64 victory on Thursday. Genevieve Coleman led the offense with 14 points and three rebounds while Kaylee Krysztof came off the bench to pour in 15 points.
 
Friday, Nov. 10
at NJIT 48, Merrimack 45 – Box Score
The Higlanders won their second straight to start the season, edging Merrimack 48-45 in overtime. Trinity Williams led the way with 12 points, 11 rebounds and three assists while Audrey Kormann chipped in six points and four rebounds.

at Boston U. 58, New Hampshire 47 - Box Score
The Wildcats led BU 24-23 at the half, but the Terriers came through int he second half to earn the win. Adara Groman led the way with 15 points and two rebounds.


at URI 78, UMass Lowell 38 – Box Score
Rhode Island pulled away early and Milli Carrera led the way with ten points, five rebounds and three assists.

at Providence 57, Vermont 47 - Box Score
The Catamounts outscored Providence by two points in the second half and closed the gap to just two points with four minutes left in regulation before a late run by the Friars. Emma Utterback posted 17 points and seven assists. 

at Fordham 66, UAlbany 63 – Box Score
The Great Danes were even through three quarters and led 58-57 with 1:59 left, but Fordham went on a 7-2 run to take control and escape with the win. Helene Haegerstrand finished with a team-high 14 points.
 
Saturday, Nov. 11
Colgate at UMBC – 1 p.m.
 
Sunday, Nov. 12
UMass at Maine – 1 p.m.
Bryant at Seton Hall – 1 p.m.
#10 Notre Dame at NJIT – 2 p.m.
Binghamton at Loyola – 5 p.m.
Howard at New Hampshire – 5 p.m.
 
Six teams are in action over the weekend, though no contest looms larger than #10 Notre Dame playing at NJIT on Sunday at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ as the Highlanders look for a signature victory.
 
Maine plays its first home game of the year, welcoming a tough UMass squad, while New Hampshire welcomes Howard to Durham for the first time. Bryant is at Seton Hall and Binghamton travels Loyola in the final contest of the day.
