Maine Women's Soccer to Face Harvard in NCAA First Round

 After clinching the program’s first-ever #AEWSOC Conference Title, Maine will play its first NCAA Tournament contest against No. 4 seed Harvard in the first round on November 10, 11 or 12.
 
The Black Bears are 10-1-6 this season after taking down UMass Lowell 3-2 in overtime on Sunday evening to clinch their first conference championship. Kayla Kraemer and Kara Kirkby gave Maine a 2-0 lead, but the River Hawks came back to even it 2-2 in the 86th minute. Kirkby came through with the game-winner in the 105th minute for the victory.
 
Harvard is the fourth seed after beating Columbia 2-0 in the Ivy League Championship yesterday afternoon. The Crimson are 12-3-2 on the season and are unbeaten in their last eight contests. They outscored Princeton and Columbia 7-2 on their way to the Ivy Title this weekend. In 2022, Harvard hosted America East Champion New Hampshire and shut out the Wildcats 2-0.

This season Maine has been anchored by #AEWSOC Striker of the Year Abby Kraemer. She leads the league with 30 points and 13 goals this season in 17 games. The Black Bears led the league in scoring this season with 37 goals, while goalkeeper Kira Kutzinski finished third in the conference with a 0.933 GAA and was fourth with a .790 save percentage.
