Men's #AEHoops Week 3: UAlbany, UNH Post Unbeaten Weeks

BOSTON – Winning ways continued for a few America East programs as UAlbany and UNH both went. 2-0. Binghamton Bryant, UMass Lowell, NJIT and Vermont also picked up victories.

  • Six of America East's nine men's basketball programs sit at .500 or better.
  • The nine squads have combined to go 31-27 (.534) so far this season. 
  • UAlbany won both of its games last week including an 86-51 trouncing of crosstown-rival Siena on Sunday. Amar'e Marshall scored a career-best 33 points to lead the way.
  • Clarence Daniels averaged 21.0 points in a 2-0 week for UNH as the Wildcats beat Marist and Fairfield.
  • NJIT head coach Grant Billmeier earned his first career win on Monday as his Highlanders beat Delaware State, 81-72.
  • UMass Lowell improved to 4-1 overall with a 69-61 win over Saint Peter's on Monday.
  • Twenty more contests take place this week, including UAlbany opening the renovated Broadview Center vs. Boston University on Wednesday.

The majority games will air on The AE on ESPN, either ESPN+ or ESPN3, in the United States. Games will also be available internationally on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

The men’s #AEHoops preseason poll was announced on Oct. 18.
 
2023-24 Weekly Award Winners (Nov. 27)
Player of the Week
Amar'e Marshall, UAlbany - So., Guard, Montclair, N.J.                           
  • Averaged a league-best 23.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
  • Had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in Bryant's win over #10 FAU Saturday.
  • He also had 28 points against Boston U. on Thursday.
  • This is Gross-Bullock's first men’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honor of the season and fourth of his career.
Rookie of the Week
Sebastian Robinson, NJIT - Fr., Guard, Montclair, N.J.
  • Averaged 18.0 point and 3.5 assists in a 1-1 week for NJIT.
  • Scored a career-high 25 points to lead his to team to a win over Delaware State on Monday.
  • This is Robinson's second career men’s #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
