BOSTON – Six different programs earned wins last week as the conference went 10-5 overall and five teams currently have a record of 3-1 or better entering the holiday week.
The Week That Was
- Maine recorded the biggest win of the week, taking down A-10 Preseason favorite Rhode Island 59-49 at home, led by the duo of Anne Simon and Adrianna Smith who combined for 39 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists.
- Bryant posted a perfect 2-0 week, with wins over Stonehill and CCSU, as did NJIT who took down Rider 70-59 and blew out Wagner 80-36.
- UAlbany and Vermont both went 1-0 against Division I competition last week as the Great Danes beat St. Bonaventure and Vermont edged Quinnipiac on the road.
- Binghamton also earned a win over the Bonnies this past weekend, 73-65.
Looking Ahead
- This week there are 21 contests scheduled, including a number of Power 5 opponents.
- Vermont looks to upend No. 17 North Carolina on Friday as part of the Gulf Coast Showcase.
- Maine competes in the Drake Tournament, playing three contests, while NJIT looks to extend its best start in over a decade with contests against Lafayette and Hofstra.
- UAlbany heads west to face off against No. 6 Stanford on Sunday.
- Binghamton, Bryant, New Hampshire, UMBC and UMass Lowell are also in action this week.

Player of the Week
Anne Simon, Maine – Gr., Guard, Sandweiler, Luxembourg
- Averaged 25 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in a 1-0 week.
- Had 25 points, five rebounds and three assists as Maine took down A-10 preseason favorite URI.
- Went on a personal 15-4 run against URI in the second half to give Maine the lead for good in the fourth quarter.
- This is Simon’s sixth career Women’s #AEHoops Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Madilyn Dogs, NJIT – Fr., Guard, Kewaskum, Wisc.
- Averaged 10.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game while shooting 69% in a 2-0 week for NJIT.
- Finished with 15 points, five rebounds, three steals and one block in a 70-57 win over Rider.
- Had six points, nine rebounds and three steals in just 15 minutes of action in a blowout of Wagner.
- This is Dogs first career #AEHoops Rookie of the Week honor.
