BOSTON – An overtime winner concluded Thursday’s quarterfinal action, as No. 6 Maine stunned No. 3 New Hampshire 3-2 in the second game of the day. In the opener, No. 4 California took down No. 5 Vermont 1-0.
Maine senior Poppy Lambert tallied the game-winning goal eight minutes into the first overtime period as the Black Bears advanced to the #AEFH Semifinals for the sixth straight season. Cal reached its first Semifinal since 2021 with its shutout victory over the Catamounts.
The Golden Bears will face off against top seed UMass Lowell at 12 p.m. on Friday, while Maine faces No. 2 UAlbany at 3 p.m. in the semifinal nightcap. Both games will air on ESPN+.

No. 4 California 1, No. 5 Vermont 0
- It was battle between the penalty circles for the first half as the teams combined for just six shots and two penalty corners in the opening 30 minutes.
- With eight minutes left in regulation, Kiki de Bruijne found Daniella Rhodes in front, and she ripped a shot into the cage for the 1-0 lead.
- The Golden Bears held off a late UVM surge for their first #AEFH Tournament victory since 2021
- Tina Jolly finished with one save in net to secure the win.
No. 6 Maine 3, No. 3 New Hampshire 2 (OT)
- Maine struck early, as Tereza Holubcova made it 1-0 at 6:42 off assists from Eloise Penty and Poppy Lambert. However, UNH answered back with a goal of its own with one minute left in the period. The score remained tied 1-1 at the half.
- The Black Bears retook the lead four minutes into the third on an impressive individual effort from Kate Richardson, but Nicole Poulakis even the score with just 6:30 remaining in regulation.
- Eight minutes into overtime, Maine earned its first penalty corner of the period. Poppy Lambert received the corner at the top of the circle, dished it to Mallory Mackesy and fed it back to Lambert in front for the game-winner.
- Jayde Temby earned the win in net for Maine with eight saves and two goals allowed, while Jemma Woods stopped five shots in the loss.
