Boston, MA - All 9 schools competed in week 5 of #AEXC. Majority of schools competed at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh this past weekend. In the women’s brown division, Vermont led the America East pack with a 6th place overall finish, followed by Brant women with a 15th place overall finish. In the men’s gold race, Vermont took 13th place and UMass Lowell finished 15th. UAlbany and Maine both competed in the Battle in Beantown this weekend. The Maine men and women took 10th and 11th respectively, while both UAlbany men and women placed 13th at the meet.
The 2023 #AEXC Championships are just about one month out. This year’s championship will be hosted by Maine at the Penobscot Valley Country Club on Friday, October 27th. Check out #AEXC Championship Central for more information.

Male Performer of the Week
Wouter Van den Akker, UMass Lowell - Jr., Groningen, Netherlands
- Ran a 24:19.5 8k in the gold division at the Paul Short Run
- He average mile pace of 4:53.6 put him just inside the top 15 out of 400 runners
Female Performer of the Week
Sophia Ryan, Binghamton - Gr., Manilus, N.Y.
- Ryan’s time of 21:04 placed her 29th out of 396 finishers in the gold division at Lehigh’s Paul Short Run
- She has now recorded back-to-back Top 30 finishes at the most competitive women's race at the meet.
