#AESD Week 2: NJIT and Vermont Earn Awards

BOSTON – Vermont and NJIT both earned first-place finishes at the NJIT Invitational this past week. NJIT's 1030 score total beat out UMass Amherst, LIU, and Saint Peter's men's programs, while Vermont beat out the women's programs with their 1133 score.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Jackie House, Vermont – Jr., Madison, Wisc.

  • Finished first in the 500 free with a time of 5:06.34.
  • Helped earn crucial points for Vermont's win with her third place finishes in the 200 medley relay (1:49.07), 200 free (1:38.68), 400 medley relay (3:57.96), and the 400 free relay (3:37.53).
Male Swimmer of the Week
Laith Sabbah, NJIT – Fr., Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Helped NJIT win their invitational after placing first in the 200 Back (1:50.51) and 500 Free (4:40.51).
  • Also contributed to the winning 200 Free Relay (1:24.23) and 400 Free Relay (3:04.92) teams.
