BOSTON – #AESD returned September 30th with both Vermont and UMBC earning wins in their first meets of the season. NJIT follwed up on October 6th with their own season opening win and the Retrievers finished the week narrowly edging out La Salle to earn their second win of the season.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Bruna de Padua, UMBC – So., Curitiba, Brazil
- In season opener vs. American, won the 1000 free with a time of 10:41.79.
- Earned a first place finish in the 500 free (5:11:58) and 1000 free (10:42:90) in meet vs. La Salle.
Male Swimmer of the Week
Francois Malherbe, NJIT – Fr., Stellenbosch, South Africa
- In his collegiate debut, broke an NJIT record with his #AESD leading, 32nd nationally ranked, time of 44:53 in the 100 free.
- Won gold in the 50 Free (20:56), 100 Free (44:53), and 100 Fly (49:43) in meet vs. Iona and Siena.
Female Diver of the Week
Tannah Proudfoot, Vermont – Fr., Johannesburg, South Africa
- In her collegeiate debut, finished first in the 3m with a score of 259.50.
- Also earned a first-place finish in the 1m with her score of 250.65.
Male Diver of the Week
Aiden Ban, NJIT – Sr., Ridgewood, N.J.
- Finished first in the 1m dive with a score of 170.10.
- Also finished top of the field in the 3m with his 157.85.
