#AEMLAX Poll: Two-Time Champion Vermont Tabbed Favorite Again

BOSTON – On the heels of winning back-to-back America East men’s lacrosse titles, Vermont is once again the preseason favorite to top the standings in 2023.

The Catamounts were a unanimous selection to top the #AEMLAX standings, amassing the maximum 49 points. Vermont received all seven first-place tallies, while UMBC earned the other. The Retrievers and UAlbany tied for second place with 39 points each.

All-American Tommy Burke (Vermont) headline the league’s top returnees in addition to reigning #AEMLAX Rookie of the Year Jordan Galloway (UMBC).

Three teams are scheduled to kick off their seasons on Feb. 4 whiles others do so on Feb. 11. Conference play, which will feature new league member Bryant and Merrimack as an associate member for the first time, begins on March 18. Teams are scheduled to play a total of seven league games, facing each league opponent once. Full 2023 #AEMLAX Schedule
 
The top four teams in the conference standings will qualify for the 2023 America East Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be held at tournament's No. 1 seed. The semifinals take place on May 4 and the championship tilt on May 6. The winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, where #AEMLAX teams have combined to win 16 games all time, including UAlbany advancing to Championship Weekend in 2018.

Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEMLAX this season. Several games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.
