#AESD Week 8: New Hampshire, UMBC, and Vermont Earn Wins in their First Meets of 2023

BOSTON - #AESD returned this past week with four teams competing on the road. New Hampshire, UMBC, and Vermont all earned wins while NJIT fell just short in their first meet of the year. 

Six programs are in action this week, with UMBC kicking things off Wednesday night, followed by a Saturday that features Binghamton, Bryant, NJIT, UMBC, and Vermont all hosting meets, while Maine is the lone program to travel.

2023 #AESD Weekly Award Winners – Jan. 17    

Female Swimmer   
Ella Church, Vermont  

  • Set the pool record in the 500 free finishing 15 seconds ahead of the field with a time of 5:06.09. 
  • Finished first in the 1000 freestyle finishing 14 seconds ahead with a time of 10:38.11. 

Female Diver    
London Yerasimides, VMI 

  • Set a PR in the 3m with a score of 227.85 
  • Placed first in the 1m with a score of 216.80. 

 
Male Swimmer    
Griffin Lajoie, Bryant 

  • Finished first in the 100 back (51.34) and 100 fly (52.95). 
  • Earned a first place finish in the 200 back (1:54.00) and 200 medley relay (1:35.76).
