BOSTON – Five #AEMSOC programs earned points last week, highlighted by perfect 2-0 marks from Bryant and UMBC. The Retrievers are now 4-0 and off to their best start since 2013 while the Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the year. Vermont earned four points last week, highlighted by a draw against No. 15 Syracuse and then a shut out of Ivy League favorite Princeton on Monday.
This week features 11 non-conference contests, including five on ESPN+. UMBC looks to keep up its spotless record against a tough Fordham squad, while UNH squares off against an FIU team which knocked off a pair of ranked opponents last week and UVM hosts Harvard.
The preseason poll was announced on August 9.

- Scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Brown.
- Assisted on the first goal in a 2-0 win over Merrimack.
- This is Bryant’s first #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Luca Marinelli, Bryant – So., Goalkeeper, Milford, Conn.
- Went 2-0 with a 0.50 GAA and a .917 save percentage last week.
- Earned a three-save shutout against Merrimack for his first win of the year.
- Made eight saves in a 2-1 victory over Brown while facing 20 shots and ten corner kicks.
Rookie of the Week
Brooklyn Baker, Bryant – Fr., Auckland, New Zealand
- Scored the eventual game-winning goal in a 2-0 win over Merrimack.
- This is Bryant’s first #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week honor.

America East is one of the best men’s soccer conferences in the country. Four teams have reached the third round of the NCAA tournament since 2014, including UMBC getting all the way to the College Cup in 2014. The conference has received multiple bids to the NCAA tournament in three of last seven seasons, including in 2021 when both UNH and league champion Vermont received bids.
Fans will once again be able to watch nearly every #AEMSOC contest this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV.
