BOSTON – Three teams came away victorious and two more earned a point during the opening weekend of conference play. New Hampshire exploded for a season-best four goals, while Vermont recorded a 2-0 shutout. UAlbany also earned a win while NJIT & UMass Lowell played to a 0-0 draw.
This week the Catamounts and Wildcats play non-conference matches before another full weekend of America East action. On Saturday evening UNH will host UMBC on ESPN+ in a crucial matchup for conference seeding purposes.

Offensive Player of the Week
Max Murray, Vermont – Jr., Midfielder, Kennebunkport, Maine
- Finished with four points (1G, 2A) in a 2-0 week for the Catamounts.
- Posted one goal and two assists, including the game-winning goal against Siena.
- This is Murray’s second straight #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Samuel Reisgys, NJIT – Sr., Goalkeeper, Rimbach, Germany
- Finished with a 1-0-1 record with two shutouts and seven saves.
- Posted a four-save shutout to lead NJIT over Sacred Heart.
- Made three saves in a 0-0 draw with UMass Lowell for his fourth shutout of the season.
Rookie of the Week
Jackson Finn, UAlbany – Fr., Forward, Woodland, Washington
- Scored first career goal in 1-0 victory over UMBC to open conference play.
- Totaled two shots and scored in the 85th minute on a heads-up play to give the Great Danes a 1-0 victory.
- This is Jackson’s first career #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week honor.

America East is one of the best men’s soccer conferences in the country. Four teams have reached the third round of the NCAA tournament since 2014, including UMBC getting all the way to the College Cup in 2014. The conference has received multiple bids to the NCAA tournament in three of last seven seasons, including in 2021 when both UNH and league champion Vermont received bids.
Fans will once again be able to watch nearly every #AEMSOC contest this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV.
