#AEVB Week 4: New Hampshire Keeps Rolling

BOSTON – Five #AEVB programs earned at least one victory last week, including New Hampshire who went a perfect 3-0 to improve to 10-4 overall and extend its winning streak to four. Four programs currently have a .500 record or better in non-conference play.
 
This week features just six non-conference matches as programs gear up for conference play the following weekend.
 
 
The preseason poll was announced on August 10. 

2022 #AEVB Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 20
Player of the Week
Kamani Conteh, UMBC – Sr., Outside, New Castle, Del.
  • Averaged 4.67 kills per set and hit .235 in a 1-2 week.
  • Posted 28 kills, six digs and hit .261 in a five-set loss to VCU.
  • Finished with 16 kills, eight digs and three aces in a four-set win over Old Dominion.
 
Setter of the Week
Malea Stanton, UAlbany – Sr., Setter, Culver City, Calif.
  • Averaged 7.9 assists per set with 28 total digs in a 1-3 week.
  • Finished with 49 assists, four digs and two kills in a four-set win over Marist.
  • Dished off 48 assists with 12 digs in a five-set loss to Coastal Carolina.
 
Defensive Specialist of the Week
Charlotte Macken, UAlbany – Sr., Libero, Clifton Park, N.Y.
  • Averaged 4.67 digs per set in a 1-3 week.
  • Posted 24 digs in a five-set loss to Coastal Carolina.
  • Finished with 18 digs in a three-set loss to Howard.
 
Rookie of the Week
Gulia Bonifacio, Binghamton – Fr., Right Side, Alba, Italy
  • Averaged 3.33 kills and 3.00 digs per set in a 1-2 week while hitting .326.
  • Had a career-high 20 kills and 12 digs in a five-set loss to Delaware State.
  • Hit. .438 with nine kills and 15 digs in a three-set win over Merrimack.
  • This is Bonifacio’s third straight #AEVB Rookie of the Week honor.
