Fitzmaurice and Troxell take home #AEXC Week 2 Awards

BOSTON - This weekend a handful of #AEXC teams were in action. Vermont and Maine competed in the 2022 Dartmouth Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational. The Vermont women took 4th and Maine women placed 5th, while the Maine men placed 3rd in the meet. Albany women came in 4th at the Siena XC Invitational. 

Bryant hosted the Nassaney Invitationals and took 1st place in the women's 5k, while the men finished 2nd overall. 

Following this weekend of competition, on the men's side, UMass Lowell is ranked 8th in the Northeast Region and Binghamton is ranked 14th. On the women's side New Hampshire is ranked 15th. 

Here are the week #2 awards: 

Female Performer of the Week 
Tess Fitzmaurice, UAlbany - So., Greenville, N.Y.

  • Placed 4th in the 5k at Siena Invitational with a time of 18:15.0.
  • Was the top UAlbany finisher for seventh-straight race to start her career.
Male Performer of the Week
Alec Troxell, Maine - Sr., Portland, Maine
  • Finished 2nd in the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational.
  • Ran a 25:12.87 in the 8K race.
