BOSTON – Six different teams earned at least one point last week and four have a .500 record or better following a strong week of play. UMBC remained unbeaten (4-0-1) with a 2-2 draw this week while UVM improved to 3-1-1 with a victory over Harvard.
This week features nine non-conference contests, with six on ESPN+. UNH looks to extend its two-game win streak when the Wildcats travel to face Providence on Tuesday and then host UC Irvine this weekend. UMBC also plays twice as it looks to extend its unbeaten streak and keep maintain its best start since 2013.
The preseason poll was announced on August 9.

Rory O’Driscoll, New Hampshire – Sr., Midfielder, Minneapolis, Minn.
- Posted a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Florida International University, who was receiving votes nationally.
- Scored on a penalty kick and added an assist on the final goal of the day.
- This is O’Driscoll’s first #AEMSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
Defensive Player of the Week
Daniel Shannon, UAlbany – So., Goalkeeper, New York, N.Y.
- Posted a four-save shutout against Penn for first career victory.
- Faced 21 total shots and 16 corner kicks as his team was outshot 21-4.
- This is Shannon’s first #AEMSOC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Maximus Barboto, NJIT – Fr., Midfielder, Wayne, N.J.
- Barboto notched his third assist of the year against Iona.
- Registered a shot on goal in NJIT’s win at La Salle
- This is Barboto’s second career #AEMSOC Rookie of the Week honor.

America East is one of the best men’s soccer conferences in the country. Four teams have reached the third round of the NCAA tournament since 2014, including UMBC getting all the way to the College Cup in 2014. The conference has received multiple bids to the NCAA tournament in three of last seven seasons, including in 2021 when both UNH and league champion Vermont received bids.
