#AEWSOC Week 4: Conference Play Kicks Off This Weekend

BOSTON – After nearly a month of non-conference play, league action in women’s soccer gets underway this weekend with four games on Sunday.
 
To this point, Maine and UMBC, two teams looking to get back to the #AEWSOC championship after absences, have enjoyed the most success with each earning four wins.

All four #AEWSOC contests this weekend will air on ESPN+.
 
The top six teams in the final #AEWSOC standings will qualify for this year’s America East Women’s Soccer Championship.
 
2022 #AEWSOC Weekly Award Winners – Sept. 12
Offensive Player of the Week
Meghan Guarente, New Hampshire – So., Midfielder, Sewell, N.J.
  • Had a seven-point game scoring three times and adding an assist in UNH’s win over Boston University on Sunday.
  • Had a hat trick and an assist in win over Stonehill on Thursday.
  • This is Guarente’s first career #AEWSOC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kathryn McNeil, Bryant – Sr., Goalkeeper, Marshfield, Mass.
  • Stopped six of seven shots she faced in a 1-0-1 week for Bryant.
  • This is McNeil’s first career #AEWSOC Defensive Player of the Week award.
 
Rookie of the Week
Emily Jozak, UAlbany – Fr., Forward, Wayne, N.J.
  • Scored in UAlbany’s win over Wagner on Sunday.
  • This is Jozak’s second-straight #AEWSOC Rookie of the Week honor.

Fans will once again be able to watch nearly every #AEWSOC contest this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.
