EUGENE, Ore. – A trio of former America East track standouts and one current coach will be participating in the 2022 World Track & Field Championships, which take place from July 15-24.
New Hampshire Wildcat and Olympian Elle Purrier St. Pierre headlines the group and will compete for the United States in the 1500 meters. Former Vermont Catamount Yolanda Ngarambe will also be participating in the 1500 meters, representing her native Sweden.
UAlbany is represented by former Great Dane and Olympian Grace Claxton in the 400 meter hurdles and current Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Roberto Vives. Claxton will compete for Puerto Rico, while Vives has been selected to serve as the Puerto Rice Team Leader.
St. Pierre and Ngarambe will both compete on July 15 in the opening heats of the 1500 meters, beginning at 9:10 PM (ET). The semifinals are the following night at 10:05 PM (ET) while the Finals will take place on July 18 at 10:50 (ET).
Claxton begins her World Championships on July 19 in opening heats of the 400 meter hurdles at 8:15 PM (ET), with the semifinals set for a day later at 9:15 PM (ET). The Finals will take place on July 22 at 10:50 PM (ET).
