BOSTON – The America East has announced its finalists for the 2021-22 Man and Woman of the Year. The three men and three women come from five different schools and represent five different athletic programs. 

All six finalists were first or second team all-conference selections this past year and four played in the NCAA Tournament during the 2021-22 season. The 2021-22 America East Man and Woman of the Year will be unveiled on Thursday, June 24.

America East began honoring a Woman of the Year in 2006 and introduced the Man of the Year award in 2015. All-Time America East Man & Woman of the Year Award Listing.

Noah Luescher – Binghamton – Soccer

• Named 2021 USC Third-Team All-Region
• Three-time All-Conference selection and 2017 America East Rookie of the Year
• Two-Time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection
• Worked with Explore, Engage & Be You Athletic Leadership Institute

Adam Savill – New Hampshire – Soccer

• 2021 First-Team All-American & America East Defensive Player of the Year
• 2021 America East Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year
• Helped lead UNH to the Round of 16 and earn its highest national ranking (No. 4) in school history
• Worked with Oyster River Youth Association

Ben Shungu – Vermont – Basketball

• 2022 Lou Henson All-America honoree
• 2022 America East Most Outstanding Player & First-Team All-Conference
• Three-time All-Defensive Team member and 2020 Defensive Player of the Year
• Outreach coordinator for UVM's Student-Athletes of Color Group (SAOC)

Courtney Coppersmith – UMBC – Softball

• Three-time America East Pitcher of the Year
• Three-time NFCA All-Region Selection
• Three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American
• Member of UMBC SAAC for three years

Hana Davis – Maine – Field Hockey

• NFHCA Second-Team All-American
• America East Midfielder of the Year
• Two-time All-Conference selection
• President of SAAC at Maine

Francesca Picicci – UNH – Soccer

• Earned Jim Urquhart Student-Athlete of the Year Award at UNH
• Jim Two-Time All-Conference selection
• Led UNH to the 2021 America East Championship Game
• Four-year member of SAAC & two-time captain
