EUGENE, Ore. – Three America East student-athletes competed at the NCAA Championships this past week on the campus of the University of Oregon, with all three taking home All-America honors following impressive performances.
Binghamton’s Emily MacKay concluded her dynamic career with a fifth All-America honor and the second First-Team selection of her career. Mackay took sixth overall in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:11.10, setting a new school record in the process and earning her best finish ever in the NCAA Championships.
UMBC freshman Caitlyn Bobb concluded her impressive debut season with a 17th place finish in the 400 meters with a school-record time of 51.84. Her 17th place finish earned her honorable mention All-America honors. Bobb set a new school record with the time.
Dan Schaffer represented the Bearcats in the 5,000 meters, placing 24th in the event with a time of 14:00.65. He secured honorable mention All-America recognition with the time in his first appearance at the NCAA Track & Field Championships.
