BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary competitions begin Wednesday with 30 America East student-athletes set to compete at Indiana University.
The qualifiers out of the region will compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which are held from June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore.
Seven #AETF programs are sending competitors to Indiana led by UAlbany’s ten selections. Several student-athletes have goals of returning to the national stage, namely, Binghamton distance runner and All-American Emily Mackay. She will run the 1,500m on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in attempt to qualify for her third NCAA Championship of 2021-22 and fifth in fourteen months. 24 student-athletes advance to Saturday's 1,500m quarterfinals and Mackay currently holds the 16th-fastest time in the event.
UAlbany graduate student Adrian Mitchell qualified for NCAAs as a freshman and begins his quest to qualify Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the men’s javelin. The top-12 advance to Eugene.
19 America East student-athletes have qualified for NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships over the past six years.
