Two #AEBASE Championship Spots Remain Entering Final Week

BOSTON – Three teams booked travel to Maine for the 2022 #AEBASE Championship as NJIT, UMass Lowell and Binghamton all secured spots in the tournament last weekend.
 
The final week of the regular season starts Thursday and Maine and Stony Brook will vie for the regular season crown while the second bye will be decided by the aforementioned teams. Visit #AEBASE Championship Central for this month’s tournament schedule, format and more.
 
 
The preseason poll was announced on Feb. 4.
 
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEBASE this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

#AEBASE Weekly Award Winners – May 16
Player of the Week
Ian Diaz, UMBC – Sr., OF, Philadelphia, Pa.
  • Hit .643 with 1.762 OPS in 3-1 week.
  • Hit .750 in series win over NJIT with six runs and five RBI.
  • This is his second career Player of the Week award.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Ben Fero, Stony Brook – Sr., RHP, Trumbull, Conn.
  • Tossed 6.2 scoreless innings in win over Binghamton.
  • Struck out eight while allowing just two walks and two hits.
  • This is Fero’s first career Pitcher of the Week honor.
 
Rookie of the Week
Evin Sullivan, Binghamton – Fr., C, Lansdale, Pa.
  • Batted .444 with .545 OPS in series against Stony Brook.
  • Sullivan drove in two runs and scored a pair.
  • This is his first #AEBASE weekly award.
