BOSTON – Vermont became the first #AEMLAX team to secure a spot in the 2022 Men’s Lacrosse Championship over the weekend. The reigning champs beat UAlbany, 14-6, on Saturday and can secure the top seed and right to host the conference championship for the first time with a win over Binghamton on Saturday.

Elsewhere over the weekend, Stony Brook beat Binghamton, 7-3, and UMBC knocked off UMass Lowell, 11-7. UAlbany, Binghamton and UMBC can all secure tournament berths with wins this week.
Binghamton's Kevin Winkoff was a midseason add to the Tewaraarton Award Watch List. Vermont's Thomas McConvey and Stony Brook's Dylan Pallonetti were previously named. Tewaraaton Award Watch List
The preseason poll was announced on January 26.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEMLAX this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Offensive Player of the Week
Brian Tregoning, UMBC – So., Attack, Silver Spring, Md.
- Scored a career-high four goals in UMBC’s win over UMass Lowell.
- Added a pair of assists for six points.
- This is Tregoning’s first Offensive Player of the Week honor of his career.
Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Sabella, Stony Brook – Jr., Defender, Mount Sinai, N.Y.
- Anchored a Stony Brook defense that held Binghamton to just three goals on only 13 shots on goal.
- Held Binghamton leading scorer Kevin Winkoff off the scoresheet.
- This is Sabella’s first-ever Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Rookie of the Week
Jamison MacLachlan, Stony Brook – Fr., Goalkeeper, Syracuse, N.Y.
- Making his first career start, stopped 10 of the 13 shots he faced.
- Compiled a .769 save percentage.
- Also picked up two ground balls.
- This is MacLachlan’s first career Rookie of the Week award.
