BOSTON – Merely a week after the NCAA Indoor Championships concluded, the outdoor track and field season began as three America East programs began their 2022 campaigns.
Here are the first weekly awards of the season:
#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Mar. 23
Female Track Performer of the Week
Dominique Clarke, UAlbany – So., Sprints, Kingston, Jamaica
- Ran the 100m and 200m dash at UCF Black & Gold Invite.
- This is her first career #AETF honor
Male Track Performer of the Week
Nicardo Blake, UAlbany – Jr., Sprints, Mount Vernon, N.Y.
- Won the 400m dash at the Spring Break Classic.
- Blake’s 47.44 time was the 24th-fastest on opening weekend in Division I.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Shiana Galette-Rowe, UAlbany – Sr., Throws, Spring Valley, N.Y.
- Finished sixth in the hammer throw at West Point Spring Open
- Galette-Rowe tossed the hammer 170’10”.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Robert Blue, UAlbany – Sr., Jumps, Harrison, N.Y.
- Won the triple jump at the UCF Black & Gold Invite.
- Blue’s 50’11” jump ranks 6th in the country this season.
