BOSTON – Binghamton and Brad Malm stole the headlines on the diamond last week. The Bearcats topped No. 23 Old Dominion on the road, 4-1, last Friday.
Maine also picked up a big road win, topping Penn State, 5-3. The Great Danes swept a four-game series against UMES and will be on the road Wednesday at Fairleigh Dickinson in one of three midweek #AEBASE games.
The preseason poll was announced on Feb. 4.
Fans will once again be able to watch the majority of #AEBASE this season. Select games will air on The AE on ESPN while others will air on AmericaEast.TV. Those games will be available on computers, OTT devices and the brand new America East app, which is available on all IOS and Android devices and can be found by searching ‘America East Conference’ in app stores.

Player of the Week
Brad Malm, UAlbany – Sr., Shortstop, Medford, N.Y.
- Hit .389 with five home runs in four games against UMES.
- Malm ranks second in Division I with eight home runs in seven games this season.
- This is his third career weekly honor.
Pitcher of the Week
Thomas Babalis, Binghamton – Jr., Left-Handed Pitcher, Branchburg, N.J.
- Threw 5.1 innings and earned the win against No. 23 ODU.
- Babalis struck out seven, did not walk a batter and surrendered one earned run.
- This is his third career weekly honor.
Rookie of the Week
Adam Kuzmicki, Stony Brook – Fr., Outfielder, Haymarket, Va.
- Slashed .500/.500/1.000 in first two collegiate games.
- Went 2-for-3 with a home run in the finale against USF.
- Kuzmicki is the second consecutive Seawolf to be named Rookie of the Week.
