BOSTON – UAlbany and Binghamton competed in the Dr. Sander Invitational hosted by Columbia last weekend while the majority of other track and field programs were at New England Championships.
For the third-straight week, Binghamton women’s indoor track and field is ranked in the top-20 of the USTFCCCA Rankings Index. The Bearcats checked in at No. 17 this week.

#AETF Weekly Award Winners – Feb. 8
Female Track Performer of the Week
Izzy Giesing, UMass Lowell – Sr., Mid-distance, Bradford, Vt.
- Ran a 2:05.76 800m at the Camel City Invitational which ranks in the national top-20.
- Giesing’s converted time of 2:04.33 is the best in the conference
- This is her first weekly award of the season.
Male Track Performer of the Week
Dan Schaffer, Binghamton – Sr., Distance, Endwell, N.Y.
- Won the 3,000m at the Dr. Sander Invitational.
- Schaffer’s 7:53.74 time ranks 21st in Division I.
- This is his third Performer of the Week award this season.
Female Field Performer of the Week
Yasmen Farag, Maine – Fr., Pole Vault, Cairo, Egypt
- Finished second at NEICAAA Indoor Championships.
- Farag cleared 11’11.75” – better than any #AETF competitor this season.
- This is her first career #AETF honor.
Male Field Performer of the Week
Kevin McGrath, New Hampshire – Sr., Jumps, Hopkinton, Mass.
- Won the high jump at New England Championships.
- McGrath set a school record, clearing 6’9.75” – a conference-best.
- This is his second Performer of the Week nod of the indoor season.
